Thoughts on Jay-Z's leaked songs
This is MY BLOG. So just because it's a certain artist don't mean I will post it, if i'm not feeling it it's not going up. That's my right!
The New stuff I've been hearing from Jay-Z is WACK to me. "Ghetto Techno" is the new joint being leaked and it's not your typical Jay-Z song. I was left confused and wondering what is going on. "Mars vs. Venus" was OK to say the least. "DOA" was a GOOD song because things needed to be said, and changed about hip hop, and I think as the so-called GOAT, when Jay speaks WE LISTEN. I wasn't a big fan of "BROOKLYN GO HARD," but I realize I am a minority to that because that was a popular song to the "Jay-Z purists." Unlike The first "BluePrint" and "American Gangster" BP3 seems to be all-over the place like BluePrint 2. And while I enjoyed a good 10 songs from BP2, I'm not hyped to pay 12.99 to hear this new one.
Since I partake in the craft of creating music maybe it's just me that's not going to hop on to whatever the status quo says is hot or not. Hopefully I get to hear some of that classic Jay-Z in the coming weeks to make me want to purchase this, or even BUMP this album.
Michael Vick Recap
Good to see Michael Vick on the field. He looked really solid as Philly used him in a variety of ways, hopefully they'll have him touch the ball at least 10-15 times a game, I think he can give them big plays when he's out there, or as a decoy be used to do some different things. I can't say he didn't look strange in green though.

Mixtape Review--Roscoe--Philaphornia 2: The Philly Fanatic
Roscoes' Philaphornia 2: The Philly Fanatic Mixtape is really solid and it does in fact pick up after his 2003 "Philaphornia" debut. It actually takes you back to that g-funk sound made popular by the West Coast in the early to mid 90s. His flow is always on point, and i'm sure this would normally be an album but the state of the industry has it be a mixtape.

He was a great man. I just seen a documentary on the Kennedy's a couple of months ago and it was really good. PLAXICO PLEADS GUILTY
What a silly dude...Just got a super bowl ring, Just got paid, and not even a year later takes a gun to the club and shoots himself, now he's made an example.

NEW YORK (AP) - Former New York Giant Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty Thursday to a weapons charge and agreed to a two-year prison term for accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub.
The ex-wide receiver pleaded guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a lesser charge than he initially faced. Under a plea agreement, he agreed to a two-year prison sentence and two years of supervised release.
Burress was indicted earlier this month on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. He faced a minimum sentence of 3 1/2 years if convicted at a trial.
Burress' attorney said he hoped to resume his NFL career when he gets out of prison.
With time off for good behavior, the two-year sentence could be reduced to 20 months. Sentencing was set for Sept. 22 and if Burress were to go to prison soon after, he could be freed as early as the spring of 2011.
The guilty plea ends months of haggling between Burress' attorney and the Manhattan district attorney's office. The case went to a grand jury earlier this month after negotiations broke down, apparently because District Attorney Robert Morgenthau was insisting that Burress serve at least two years in prison.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Dwyer said it is standard policy to request a two-year sentence as part of a plea bargain on such serious charges.
In a Manhattan state Supreme Court room on Thursday, the soft-spoken Burress, wearing a dark blue suit, peacock blue shirt and blue tie, first entered a not-guilty plea to the initial charges against him. After attorneys on both sides conferred, Burress said, "guilty" to the new attempted weapons possession charge.
His attorney, Benjamin Brafman, said in court that the 31-year-old Burress was thinking of his family in taking the plea, although he questioned the recommended prison sentence. Afterward, Brafman described Burress as having "an agonizing period of discussion" about taking the plea, but taking it so he could put the whole episode behind him quickly.
"This was not an intentional criminal act," Brafman said in court. "In my judgment, a two-year prison sentence is a very severe punishment."
Burress did not speak to reporters and left while his attorney addressed the media outside the courthouse.
Brafman called the case "a perfect example about how bad judgment can have very serious consequences" and said Burress was treated more harshly because he is a celebrity.
"If Plaxico Burress were not a high-profile individual, there never would be a case," he said. "If he were just John Q Public he could have walked out of the club and he never would have been arrested."
Burress would make a statement at his sentencing, and would try to begin serving his sentence immediately, Brafman said. He did not know where Burress would serve his time.
Burress and former teammate Antonio Pierce were at the Latin Quarter nightclub in late November when a gun tucked into Burress' waistband slipped down his leg and fired, shooting him in the right thigh. The bullet narrowly missed a nightclub security guard who was standing inches away, prosecutors said, lodged in the floor and was recovered by a bartender.
The gun was not licensed in New York or in New Jersey, where Burress lived, prosecutors said. His license to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Florida had expired in May 2008.
Prosecutors said Pierce drove Burress to a hospital, then took the gun to his own home in New Jersey where it was later delivered to Burress' home.
Pierce was not indicted. The grand jury also did not indict the nightclub security guard who carried the gun to Pierce's car or the hospital staff members who failed to notify police that Burress had been shot.
Burress, who caught the winning touchdown for the Giants over the New England Patriots in the final minute of the 2008 Super Bowl, also could face disciplinary action by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Brafman said lawyer said he hoped any sanctions imposed by the NFL would run concurrent with Burress' prison sentence.

Lil Wayne Confirms Lauren London Pregnancy--Talks Albums
The perks of superstardom allow Lil' Wayne to pull one of the "baddest chicks" in the movies Lauren London and impregnate her. I ain't mad, I am however interested to see how the baby comes out. He also talks about his Rock Album titled "The Rebirth", and another Carter album.
Superstar Lil Wayne continues to remain active, as the rapper verified his work on a new Carter album and the completion of his rock LP The Rebirth.
In an interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show, Wayne detailed the current status of his latest projects, and which one fans can expect first.
“The Rebirth is actually finished. I’m never finished with The Carters; I’m always working on those,” Wayne explained. “We just don’t want to drop nothing right now because of the Young Money thing. I don’t want to overshadow them. I need them to shine [and] it’s their time. We have a new Young Money single called 'Girl You Know.””
Addressing rumors, Wayne cleared up the whisperings regarding his relationship with actress Lauren London.
“[Lauren] is very fine, sexy, [and] very pregnant, yes,” Wayne clarified. “That’s not rumors, that’s a kid! That’s a child, a life! You don’t hide from that.”
With Young Money’s roster quickly expanding, Wayne revealed information on when the public can expect Drake’s anticipated debut.
“Man, that boy clumsy, this dude fall every 5 minutes! He’s like the coolest dude on the songs but he can’t walk a straight line! Nah, I’m just playing,” Wayne joked. “Next Drake is dropping an album. Most likely this year or the top of next year. But he’s crazy, it doesn’t matter. But he’s crazy. He can drop in the next two years and it still is going to be the hottest.”
At press time, Wayne has not disclosed a set release date for The Rebirth.

Bow Wow To Cash Money??
Damn, last week I was just talking about Omarion to Cash Money, now Bow Wow too?? The young women are going to be packing arenas to see these dudes now. The announcement came via Bow Wow's twitter, "It's the triple threat Bow, Wayne, and Drake. I seen just a few weeks ago he was talking retirement saying he would focus on acting, and he made all he could out of rap.
Now he's with Cash Money, I think the move could work. He's had some dope singles and he's on a label with Wayne, Drake, and Omarion, with Wayne and Baby overseeing it. If this doesn't work rap isn't for him anymore. Good signing for Cash Money an instantly recognizable face, no artist development he can jump right in. With all this talent now we really get to see how Wayne markets his artists and puts their albums out at the right time.

Lil Wayne signs Omarion??
Since Cash Money and Young Money supposedly operate under the same umbrella, it's looking like the New Cash Money is going to generate money like the old "bling, bling" Cash Money era. Glasses Malone, Drake and now Omarion. Those 3 along with Lil' Wayne and Cash Money should be back on top. Drake is guaranteed to SELL, and I believe Glasses Malone will have a very strong debut. The only doubt I have is Baby has not done well managing an R & B singer. He had TQ for a short run, Tina Marie was signed to them for a short stint as well as the group Unplugged. We'll see how this pans out, this can only help the label. Omarion has tons of talent and I still think his best work is ahead of him. Signing with Cash Money makes him relevant again and it can jump start and rejuvenate his career.

Nipsey Hussle--Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 3
The Bee must be stinging Nipsey Hussle because his buzz is downright silly right now. I heard his name around but honestly I didn't take notice until "Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 2." That mixtape was obviously great product it got great reviews and just when you think he can't top that, he comes out with Vol. 3 of the same name. I was listening to it on the way to the Crenshaw Wal-mart yesterday with the homies (thats fitting right). Driving down the shaw' you could see his world through your eyes, the good and the bad right in front of you.
The mixtape ain't all hard gangsta stuff dude can really spit, and he has a style of his own. Aside from the local artists I know still trying to build up there buzz to where his is at, he is a dude I'm looking out for as far as an Album is concerned. I would actually pay the $11.99 if the album is anything like the mixtapes. He has a chance to be the next big superstar coming out the West, and he has a chance to spearhead the West back to national prominence which will hopefully shine light to the other talented artists out this way.

Leisure--Catalina Island
If you want to take a romantic getaway but don't want to go to far, or if you just want some piece of mind for a day Catalina Island is the spot for you. One of Californias great landmarks, Catalina Island would be a great getaway for a day or even a weekend. It's just far enough to not be bothered with the same folks you would on your daily. Memoirs to reveal Dick Cheney thought Bush had gone soft on war on terror
Dick Cheney revealed to Stephen Hayes his authorised biographer that he felt former President George Bush went "soft" in his second term of office. Supposedly, Cheney spearheaded all the hard stances on the war on terror including the controversial invasion of Iraq. Bush was weary of the public opinion of his term after the invasion, so he allegedly strayed away from Cheney's hard stances on these issues. This is only one of many stories about the White House during the Bush Administration that is sure to come out. While we will never know everything, we will get a more in depth glimpse of what was REALLY going on in The White House.

Madden 2010
The Madden Craze is real ladies and Gentlemen, I've been a fan of the game since the very first madden in 90' or 91'. I had the Super Nintendo version that didn't have every team or any names or numbers on the jersey. Football Season Who Ya Got??
The Football season is quickly approaching, I'm not as excited about it as I have been in past seasons but maybe it's because I'm an Oakland Raiders fan and we've had several dismal seasons in a row. Or maybe it's because I'm a T.O. fan and of all teams he's on the Buffalo Bills, Or maybe it's because I'm a Ladanian Tomlinson fan and he looks like he won't regain his dominance as his career fades into the sunset (hopefully i'm wrong about the latter). Or maybe it's because Brett Favre didn't come back, I'm going to miss seeing those bombs thrown into double coverage in a close game, and i'm going to miss the old guy picking up his teammates running around like a little kid after a touchdown. Nevertheless, the season is approaching and I'm sure i'll warm up to it, beats watching meaningless baseball because we all know it doesn't count until middle of September. BUSTED...Pretty Ricky What They Called Him
College basketball Coaching Legend Rick Pitino is caught up in drama off the court. He's going to have a heck of a time trying to lead his young men on the court while preaching responsibility off the court.
Allegedly Coach Pitino had sex with a woman in a restaurant after he had been drinking back in 2003. The Lady supposedly became pregnant and in order to avoid further embarrassment he opted to pay her off. Instead the woman tried to extort him for 10 million dollars, as well as other perks.
Pitino is a married man and now must face the media head on. How he handles this situation can determine his career path from here on out. He's been rumored to be interested in getting back in the NBA and this could help push him there. This situation can have an adverse affect on his college recruiting and his relationship with the university whom has to perform PR work and help clean up this mess that Coach Pitino has made. The best thing he can do is own up to his mistakes and move on. America loves a great comeback!

President Barack Obama Fighting For Health Care Proposal
President Obama is facing opposition about his Health Care program. Never one to back down the President welcomed a "vigorous" debate, and challenged the opposition to act saying, "What is really scary, what is really risky, is to do nothing." He repeated guarantees that a health care overhaul won't force anyone to give up health insurance they like and won't cut Medicare benefits, and he stood by his election pledge that he won't raise taxes on people making less than $250,000 a year. President Obama wants the government to compete against the Health coverage insurers to get rates to come down. The people opposing this have a view that the government will have too much control, but It seems the President is riling up greedy people making money off the high insurance rates the Health Care industry can charge. Hopefully his plan will come to pass because I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run. His term will really be defined by America's progress in the Long-run, but in the short term all he can do is propose, push, and "hold down the fort".
Michael Jackson Movie "This is It" on October 30th
Michael Jackson will be hitting the big screen on one of the toughest dates of the year at the box office.Sony Pictures today confirmed the long-reported deal that it is joining with Sony Music Entertainment to release a movie featuring behind-the-scenes and rehearsal footage from preparation for the late singer's "This Is It" concert series in London.
Sony paid $60 million to concert producer AEG and the singer's estate for rights to turn the footage into a movie. Though the deal was negotiated last month, it was officially approved by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge today.The studio will release the film, also called "This Is It," worldwide on Friday, Oct. 30. Sony will no doubt be tying the opening into Michael Jackson's Halloween-oriented classic album and video "Thriller."
But with the holiday falling on a Saturday, attendance will likely be soft on what's normally the busiest movie-going day of the week.Many of the fall's best release dates are already taken, however. The only other movie currently scheduled to open Oct. 30 is The Weinstein Co.'s comedy "Youth in Revolt."Sony also revealed that some sequences, which were shot for use in the concert, will be in digital 3-D.[Updated 2:55 p.m.: Now that the deal has been approved by the court, said a source close to the project, Sony will begin negotiations with "High School Musical" director Kenny Ortega, Jackson's creative partner on the concert series, to direct the movie.That will consist primarily of sorting through and editing the hundreds of hours of footage for which Sony has obtained theatrical rights.]-LATimes

This is old, but i came across it a few days ago...This was not a Doug Williams roast but it turned out to be...Jamie did this at the Emmitt Smith roast a few years ago, this is a career ruiner, I can't look at this dude the same...Doug Williams is the MC for Martin Lawrences' "First Amendment" comedy special on the Starz cable network...(the only Doug Williams I know is the 1st Black Quarterback to win the superbowl...)
Dodgers Need To Get Back On Track
After cruising the first half of the season (the team had The Best Record in Baseball) now the Los Angeles Dodgers are stumbling and staggering in the Dog Days of Summer. The Dodgers are just 4-6 in their last 10 games including an embarrassing series loss to the Atlanta Braves. They lost 3 out of 4 to a non-contender.
The Dodgers have seemed to start losing steam when the controversial slugger Manny Ramirez came back from suspension for testing positive for a performance enhancer. In no way am I suggesting he's brought the team down, he's beloved in the clubhouse for his jovial nature, and beloved on the field by the fans for the way he can crush a ball at the right time. The team just seems out of whack. One night they'll put up 17 runs the next night they'll score 1. One night they'll score 9 runs the next night 1.
September is vastly approaching and if they want to hold off the Pitching heavy San Francisco Giants, and the "never say die" Colorado Rockies they'll have to play consistent baseball from here on out. The Dodgers have a comfortable lead and a manager in Joe Torre who knows how to manage down the stretch but still, there are quality teams in the surprising NL West this season. The key to success in baseball is always stellar pitching, superb defense, and timely hitting. Hopefully the Dodgers will figure out how to click on all cylinders consistently from now until the end of the season, and hopefully it will carry on until the post season. "The Kids" as I call them are quickly becoming seasoned veterans so now is the time to act like it, beating the Giants last night is a start but lets see if it will lead to a finish as well.
Slaughterhouse
The top trending topic on "twitter" today, slaughterhouse has been generating a Wu-Tang like Buzz. I haven't seen anything like it. The supergroup comprised of the controversial Joe Budden from New Jersey, Killa Cali's own Crooked I, Joell Ortiz from Brooklyn, and Royce Da 5'9 from Detroit. The Rhymes are vicious, and these dudes don't play. It seems everything is working in the groups favor because they have been working the streets with their music, Rocked the house at The Rock the Bells concert in Cali last weekend, they are respected by the industry, and Joe budden has a beef with hip hop legend Raekwon. No big singles on the radio, they just took it back to the roots and made quality music. So by going against the grain against "pop", "jerkin music", and dirty south club music these 4 are etching their name in hip hop history and might start a new trend...I'm interested in seeing how the Album does numbers wise, but for now I advise everyone to pick up a copy of the new Slaughterhouse CD.
